
Mona Qaud (Switzerland)
Mona Qaud holds a Textile Engineering degree from the Reutlingen University in Germany and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the ZHAW in Switzerland. She was born in 1968 and is a Swiss citizen. After her diploma thesis as textile engineer already in the sector of cotton fiber testing she worked for Uster Technologies AG in Switzerland an in the USA.
Consecutively she worked for 15 years for the Rieter Machinery Works, Switzerland. Within Rieter she signed responsible for the standardization of the test methods for all worldwide labora- tories Rieter operated.
This includes the testing of fibers, yarns but also fabrics, mainly out of staple spun yarns. Mona Qaud rejoined Uster Technologies AG as of August 2012 and is now, within the department of Textile Technology, responsible for the application of fiber testing equipment, not only for cotton fibers, but also for other staple fibers as well. Her field of application goes beyond the fiber measurements, including the spinning process, as well as the processing into fabrics.
She was member of the SNV (Swiss standardizing committee) and ISO, she was also working as a consultant to CSITC in the sector of classification of cotton. In 2002 she became vice chair coordinator of the HVI group, and since 2006 she has been the head of this very committee. She was elected Vice Chair of the ITMF International Committee on Cotton Testing Methods (ICCTM) in March 2014 and remains coordinator of its HVI Task Force.
